This gig was over three weeks ago (yes, I totally forgot to finish this post .. and yes, I’m going to pretend I delayed it intentionally), so thought it was about time I wrote about it.
I brought a standing ticket to go with my friend, Rikki, which meant we got to the arena at around 9am (my train was at 7 .. how gross), and ended up waiting over 8 hours for the doors to open. And it was freezing I tell you. So damn cold. My feet were numb for ages.
But anyway, when we finally got inside it wasn’t that long to wait until the music started (and till I began to feel my toes again).
There were two support acts; apparently nowadays having more than one is the norm. Good Charlotte, who were alright I guess, not my particular favourite, but their music was decent. And then Against The Current who .. well, let’s just say I went home and downloaded all of their music.
They’re a pop-rock band from New York (very similar to ‘We Are The In Crowd’ if you’ve ever heard of them) and I kinda wish I’d been able to appreciate them fully when seeing them live. “Outsiders“, “Running With The Wild Things” and “Gravity” were a few songs that particularly stood out (and worth a listen).
And then, obviously, the main reason we were at the arena in the first place .. All Time Low.
I vaguely knew who they were a year ago, but Rikki had mentioned that they were playing at Reading Festival and seeing as there were a few other acts I wanted to see (Panic! At The Disco, Echosmith, Simple Plan), we decided to go together. It was such an amazing day, and I enjoyed All Time Low’s setlist so much that I’d brought their CDs and, here I was, six months later, seeing them again.
And, yes, they acted like total idiots on stage, but they did a good two hour set full of some of my all time (get it) favourite songs (setlist below).
- Kids In The Dark
- A Love Like War
- Dancing With A Wolf
- Backseat Serenade
- Lost in Stereo
- Poppin’ Champagne
- Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t)
- Tidal Waves (acoustic)
- Bail Me Out
- Therapy (acoustic)
- Missing You (acoustic)
- Coffee Shop Soundtrack
- Don’t You Go
- Old Scars/Future Hearts
- Something’s Gotta Give
- Dear Maria, Count Me In
So – despite the girl who kept throwing up in the audience (and who also refused to leave the pit even though she’d been sick over several people .. thankfully not me) – the concert was an absolute blast, 10/10, whale of a time and all that.
And after driving back to Rikki’s house we stopped for an impromptu McDonalds .. at 2am .. and it was so freaking earned).
