Taylor Swift – The Red Tour

1st Feburary, 2014.  Officially one of the best days of my entire existence; the day I FINALLY got to see Taylor Swift live for the first time!

It was at the O2 Arena in London, so we went down as a family and decided to make a weekend of it.

There was a cute exhibition set up at the O2 for the duration of Taylor’s tour, which you did have to pay to go to but was completely worth it.  So we decided to look around here before getting lunch.  There were photos and billboards full of writing that talked you through her career, and even a few of her actual costumes from previous tours and performances.

Me and my Mum returned to the O2 at around 6ish – we took the cable cars across the Thames which were slightly terrifying as they shook A LOT due to the wind.

It’s standard that fans dress up at a Taylor Swift concert.  My “costume” was very low-key and consisted of a t-shirt I’d painted .. mimicking Taylor’s Junior Jewels one from her “You Belong With Me” music video.

When the lights turned off my heart dropped.  This was it.  It was the moment I’d been anticipating for such a long time.  And suddenly her silhouette appeared behind a red curtain and I couldn’t hold it in anymore.  By the time the curtain dropped the tears were already flowing.  This was the real Taylor freaking Swift.

About halfway through the show Taylor announced she had a surprise for us .. and it was a damn good one! She brought out Ed Sheeran – ED SHEERAN – to sing “Lego House” together and the whole arena was lit up .. it was so freaking magical I tell you.

I can’t wait until I get to see Taylor again, she was honestly so much fun to see live.  I hope it’s soon.
